Winter Elkhorn Mountains Engagement Session | Helena, Montana

When the snow doesn’t stop you from going where you want to, you give into some epic colors and dreamy mountain pictures. Most Montana couples aren’t afraid to get a little cold for mountain pictures. Because all of us Montanans know that there is nothing quite like mountains with snow on them. That also means, it is worth being in the cold to have them as your back drop.

That was no different for these two. We decided that we’d drive as far as we could knowing that the road isn’t always plowed, but we had a spot in mind and we were really hoping that we could make it. We did and the Montana winter sunset didn’t disappoint either. The Elkhorn mountains are a quick drive from town and well worth it. It just may be my favorite location.

Kailey and Brian

Brian is a total burger and beer lover, football obsessed mountain man! I am a pizza loving dog mom with a passion for helping people! Our first date was a total flop when Brian’s car couldn’t start. I thought he was standing me up, but I waited and we met at the brew house for roughly 45 min for a beer. After that, I knew we needed to try again and we had our (2nd) first date in Missoula where I lost an earring (that we searched for forever for to find out it was in his truck..oops), put his sweatshirt on backward, and was just a genuine goon! We knew I’ve had something special and wanted to continue spending time with each other despite the distance. We have lived in Helena now together for the past 4 years, and have planted roots in town!
