Flathead Lake | Lakeside Montana Elopement

When Kylie reached out and we met in person, it was an instant connection. Her fiancé worked out of town and she was counting the days till he would return to Montana and they could elope. They wanted a small relaxed elopement surrounded by their favorite and most important people in their lives.

That is exactly what they did. When I showed up, she joked that her fiancé Andy really did exist as he wasn’t there yet and I hadn’t met him. It started to rain and we didn’t let on as it would ruin the plan for their day. It cleared up just before she went outside and the rest of the day didn’t disappoint. In fact, it gave us some of the best lighting.

I grew up in Southern California, but always knew as an adult I would leave. I moved to South Carolina without knowing a single person in January 2020. Then Covid hit which made it impossible to meet anyone. Andy and I lived together as roommates in California six years ago. I never told him I liked him (how awkward would that be if he didn't reciprocate haha?!). He moved to South Dakota and we kept in touch. As I was leaving California to move to South Carolina (literally car packed full) he flew to Phoenix as I was driving through to meet me for our first date in December of 2019. Since I knew him so well from living together, I knew we would either get married or it would be like dating my brother. Haha! Itt worked out! We were long distance for 2020 and the beginning of 2021. When visiting South Dakota, I fell in love with the cold & snow. I missed the California mountains, so Montana seemed like the perfect place for us :) He works overseas so he is hardly ever home. This California girl is experiencing her first "actual" winter and shoveling snow and loving every minute of it.

We went on vacation to Banff in September where he proposed on the gondola ride :) We like to hike, run (basically anything outdoors) and he likes to go shooting. If I can't be outdoors I like to read and do puzzles.
