When you think of eloping in Montana or Glacier National Park what comes to mind? When you’ve heard the word and someone going to do it, do you think of it as a huge adventure that you would never even dream of or maybe that is exactly what you dream of for an elopement.

I’ve sat around and explained this to my parents and various other people often starting with “It’s not what you think.” Then I go into an explanation that it isn’t about going to Vegas or just deciding one day to go to the courthouse. Although, sometimes it still is. But….most often it is about putting the focus back on you as a couple.

Taking all the preconceived notions about what your wedding day should look like and throwing them in the trash. It’s about deciding exactly what this special day should look like for you. Maybe you’ve dreamed of waking up and going on a hike or floating on the lake. Maybe you dreamed about sleeping in and not having to share your day with a 100 other people and you just want your closest family and friends around you. It’s about those things you are dreaming about. The things that you wish could happen on your wedding day, but never seem to fit in the schedule for a full big wedding. It’s about not having to walk around and chat with 200 guests and hardly getting a moment to look at your loves face and actually soak in what is happening.
