Glacier National Park Montana Intimate Elopement | Autumn + Tyler

Have you ever received an email and you just started jumping around the room because you couldn’t handle how excited you were? Well that is how it was for me with Autumn and Tyler when they inquired about an elopement in Glacier National Park. It’s one of my favorite places in the world and it is almost in my backyard. The state of Montana has so many great places to elope, but something about Glacier has my heart. It could be all the childhood memories or all the new memories I’ve started creating with my little family. I’ll jump at sessions or elopements up there any chance I get.

Now these two were the perfect couple and I couldn’t have asked for a better first elopement couple in Glacier National Park. Instead of me just rambling on about them, you can hear it from Autumn herself.

Autumn & Tyler

Tyler and I met in November 2018 and instantly knew we would marry one another. I had seen Tyler at church when I was in high school. I thought he was cute but thought he was a "bad boy" when someone showed me a picture of him sleeping in church and I didn't like that.

We went on our first date at a State Park. Then we saw a movie after that. I can't even remember the name of it now because I was freaking out that we were on a date. Then we went to dinner. The next day he told me that he was dating to marry and that he wanted his next girlfriend to be his wife... and a month later he asked me to be his girlfriend. :O

He proposed to me in April 2020. He wanted to propose to me in Georgia where his family was going to rent a cabin. Looking back, I should have known he was about to propose. It was a thought, but I was sure that he wouldn't propose to me until after I graduated college. His mom talked about hiring a photographer for the cabin trip and one night while we were eating dinner with them I even asked if he was going to propose to which everyone said no and I believed them.

Tyler's mom talked about getting our nails done and I even remember seeing that Tyler spent a large sum of money on his credit card. I asked him about it and he said he bought stocks. I was talking to the dad of the kids I babysat for and he told me you can't buy stocks with a credit card and that Tyler was probably going to propose soon. I still didn't think much of it.

The cabin cancelled on us due. Tyler and his family improvised and we visited his brother in Alabama instead. We hiked in Bankhead National Forest. It was a cool and beautiful day and the perfect day for a proposal. At the end of the hike was a beautiful waterfall. We were getting our picture taken in front of the waterfall and all of a sudden Tyler got down on one knee. He almost lost his balance on a rock, nearly fell over and he opened the ring box upside down. It took me a second to realize he was proposing because the ring wasn't where it was supposed to be. I thought it was a not funny joke and then I saw the beautiful sparkly ring at the top of the box. It was a beautiful day.
