Beachy Anniversary Session | Kauai Photographer
Back at the end of January, yes January! (I'm just a little behind on my posts). I made my way to Kauai with my family for a fun little getaway. While I was there, I had the opportunity to be a Kauai photographer. I loved my adventure with these two.
We had our plans set to go to a beach that was a little more remote and away from the tourists. As we were driving there, we came across a gate across the road. A blocked road! We asked the person standing at the gate why the road was closed. The gate was closed because they were filming a movie in that area. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I had always dreamed of hiking along the shores of Kauai as a Kauai photographer with our destination being a remote beach were we could have the place to ourselves.

Well, plans change and we can't always plan out our life or my Kauai photography sessions the way I want or dream. The way I react and how I decide to go on from there is what really matters. So we decided to hit up the beach close by. Going to find another remote beach, would leave us with little to no light for our session. We couldn't have that happen. Although this beach was much more populated, we hiked up the rocks a little ways and managed to be mostly secluded from all the passing tourists.
Bonnie grew up in Kauai and eventually married Kenny, a Montana boy turned into a lover of the island. Though Bonnie grew up on Kauai, she had just finished learning how to make a Haku or head lei. It was the perfect addition to the session. She later gifted it to me which made for a fun accessory for me when taking our baby announcement photos the next day. I loved our little Hawaii announcement.
Since I can now claim to be a Kauai photographer, I can't wait to go back and shoot an elopement, a wedding or any couples session. If you are interested in booking me for you next Kauai adventure, be sure to make an inquiry here. I'd love to be a part of your special moment in such a gorgeous
