Riverside | Montana Engagement Photographer

I've known Darcy for several years now. When she got together with Devin, I couldn't wait to meet him. We were all living in Oregon at the time, so it only seemed right to meet near the old highway along the Sandy River in Troutdale. There was a little drive-in restaurant, called Sugarpine Drive-In, that I had been eyeing for months. I was following them on Instagram and I knew a session had to take place there. It was the perfect location. I'm a Montana engagement photographer now, but I continue to travel to different states. Oregon is top on the list because of family ties.

I had all these ideas in my mind for pictures with the little drive-in, but I didn't realize how busy they would be. My thoughts quickly got knocked down when the crowd overtook the restaurant. Now, this happened for a reason, the food was dang good. The atmosphere was perfect and the soft serve ice cream was just delicious. Despite not getting the photos of these two newly engaged at the drive-in, we made use of the gorgeous area by the river. We had no idea what to expect, but the location didn't disappoint.

I love that being a photographer in one state can also mean I'm a photographer in another state. This is one of the best things about my job. I get to go explore other states and places, but live in the state that I love the most. These two made it so easy to run around with and to pass along prompts. They were so in love which I think you can clearly see on their faces in these pictures. Seeing young love like this brings me back to the first days with my husband. I love being reminded of that and to see how far we've come over the last 11 years. Growing with each other has been so wonderful. Watching others start their process and grow together is one of the best parts of being a couples photographer.
