What to pack for your Elopement day | Glacier Elopement Photographer

You've finally decided that a big wedding isn't for you, but you are still strung up on some of the small details. If you've chosen a mountain location like Glacier National Park, then here are some tips on what to pack for your Elopement day. When you are in the mountains, you should be prepared for anything. It doesn't matter if it is the summer or winter. The weather isn't picky depending on the season. As your photographer, I'll have my own set of gear, but you can never be too cautious.

What to pack for your Elopement day in the mountains

  • A nice day pack! You'll want somewhere to shove all your extras.

  • Whether you've decided to wear your dress to your elopement location or not, bring and wear either leggings or long johns. You won't regret this extra warmth and you can always take them off.

  • Wear hiking socks and boots! High heels definitely aren't practical for your mountain elopement. May I suggest, just going barefoot at the location anyways!

  • Gloves, warm dressy jacket, beanie hat (if you aren't afraid of messy hair) and maybe a scarf. You'll want to stay warm. Bring all the essentials. Did I mention warm socks like Smartwools? Oh I did. Good.

  • So, you decided to wear a hat and your hair is messy. If you want to fix it, bring along a little beauty kit for your hair and makeup. You might want to touch up both on location.

  • Hand and toe warmers for either before or after.

  • Water or a little snack depending on your elopement dreams. Maybe you are planning on bringing take out pizza or your favorite chinese food. Whatever it is, have some type of food. You wont regret it after the hike.

  • A blanket for an intimate moment and time to relax. Cause, you might just want to pop some bubbly.

  • Kleenex, wipes, napkins...it's going to be emotional.

Friends. These are just some of the basics to think about bringing. Remember, whatever you are doing, make it your day. Bring along whatever your heart desires. When planning out your day, think of the things that make you as a couple jump. What brings you together. What you love having together and couldn't or shouldn't live without on your day. Be you! I'll say that again. BE YOU!
