What would I do if I could have my wedding day all over again? | Glacier National Park Elopement Photographer

How would I change my wedding day if I could do it all over again?

On my wedding day back when I got married, there wasn't Pinterest or much advice out there to easily find out how to plan a wedding. Let alone, things like a first look anyways? Now I don't want to date myself too much because I got married in 2008. I was a young 21 year old that new nothing about the wedding industry. A few of my friends had gotten married, but I wasn't around it a whole lot yet.

Since I've gotten into photography, my views on what I would have liked my wedding to be like have changed drastically. I don't think I would have even been close to having a traditional wedding day. I would have probably eloped or had a very small intimate wedding with only close family members and maybe some friends. No matter what route I took, I would have for sure done a first look. I would have focused more on our love for each other rather than all the guests and everyone else. I mean, it was my day.

My Wedding

Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond grateful for all the support and love from our friends and family. To be honest, I have forgotten most of the people that were even there and most of the details.

My wedding day was such a whirlwind as most tend to be, but I hardly remember most of it. We set everything up ourselves, my mom got the church ladies to bring food and we did all our own decorations to save money. I don't even remember eating or the amazing cake my friend from Blue Box Bakery made. Remember, no Pinterest? Well, everything looked interesting and then instantly those decorations were now just a waste of money. At least with Pinterest, you can turn someone like me into an artist. I'll stick to photography.

Oooh the outdoors

We loved the outdoors and nature. Now, I would have found a spot that could have allowed us to hike up into the mountains. A wedding day that would have given us time with each other. The ability to spend the day however we wanted. To really reflect and remember what had happened in our relationship and to dream and think about what was to come. I would hike up a mountain trail in a beautiful wedding dress and hiking boots. It would either take place in Glacier National Park or somewhere far away like Patagonia.

That is what I would do my friends. And you know what, I might just have to do it anyways. This sounds like the best vow renewal I could ever have.

Are you planning your day or are like me and would do it all different now? Let's make it happen for you. JUST THE WAY YOU WANT IT. Let's get planning.
